Hi everyone, I started to have pins and needles and sciatica type pain in my left leg in january 2009, difficault walking,thought it was sciatica so didnt do anything about it , by april it had got worse, went to see my gp, she did a pin test on my legs and found that the leg left was numb, as was my left side, she gave me a steroid injection in my leg and was told to go back in a week, the injection hadnt worked and if anything made my leg worse , i went back to my gp , and was asked a few questions , i had also had a burning sensation in the soles of my feet , and sometimes if i sat for long periods i had a tightness around my waist like someone squeezing tight, i was sent for a mri at outpatients at the hospital the same day , and was kept in hospital for three days, had a mri done lower back , brain , and neck area, for which it showed subcortial brain lesions, and inflamation of the spine, i was sent home after being told i was being transfered to a nureological hospital, i have seen the consultant who did eye tests , co-ordination, balance, and a series of blood tests , 12 infact, i have a lumbar booked for next week, the consultant said had i heard of ms , i said i had , other symptoms i have had are tingling numbness in both hands , lower back pain , a tight hug feeling , tiredness , and memory confusion , he gave me amitriptyline to take at night . but he didnt say i had ms, just had i heard of it,work has become a problem as i work in banking and have made a series of mistakes , and my boss had said im unfit to work and cannot afford these mistakes , i have informed my gp and for the time being i have been signed off sick . since seeing the gp i have really bad headaches , and a constant urgency to pee. and memory getting worse , my leg has never gone away its a constant pain and numbness , my gp said she suspected ms , but the consultant has only said have i heard of it , all the other tests have come back normal ,the blood tests ... so do i have it or not , ive read the symptons diagnosis tests ect , but my question to you is , does this sound like ms , how long have you all waited to be diagnosed ,, are you able to work , and is anyone else here on the same medication as me , thanks for your time , x
