I haven’t yet been diagnosed with MS. I have had an MRI scan that shows some lesions, and have had numbness and pins & needles in my left hand & arm since March this year. It has travelled up my neck, and the side of my face, and affects my left ear. Some days it is accompanied by pain in the forearm. The neurologist said that there is a 60/40 chance that it is MS, and that another attack would confirm it. I have since felt pins & needles in my right fingers, although not strongly, and I feel a slight numb patch on my right foot. I don’t know if this is my wild imagination or another attack. I feel so tired at times - it comes and goes a few times in one day. And I feel over emotional about the whole thing.
I don’t really know what happens now, I guess it is just a waiting game. I would like to hear from other people who have similar symptoms, or advice on how to deal with the situation.
hi sadley that does sound familliar. have you tried asking your doctor about trying a course of oral steroids? i have to say i only find I V steriods worked for me but a friend swares by prednisone. hope this helps. ifi can offer any more advise please ask i come on here several times a week and i’m on msm. jon
it’s fine to ask questions, that’s how i learned. (being a nosey sod like me can have it’s benefits :) a course of steroids helps the body stop attacking itself and give it a kick start to making you feel better. i can’t promise it will work as i know from friends with ms, they don’t always have the same effect but they are normally, for me, the first port of call in a storm. for some good advice on steroids you can always ring nhs direct 24 hours a day for some advice too. 0845 46 47. if i can offer any more advice please ask as it makes me feel useful. take care, Jon
