Primary-Progressive MS

In a minority of people, MS never shows the usual pattern of relapses and remissions. Instead the condition is progressive from the start, with symptoms worsening steadily and disability becoming more pronounced. This is classified as primary progressive or chronic progressive MS, and accounts for around 15% of all cases. Sometimes the disease reaches a plateau after a few months or years, after which the level of disability remains steady.
