Diet
It has long been suspected that diet may play a part in causing MS. Speculation has centred on polyunsaturated fats, fat being the major ingredient of myelin. Many people with MS have reduced levels of polyunsaturated fat in their blood and brain tissue, and dietary intake of these fats is lower in the cool climates where MS is more common. Research on the role of diet in both onset and treatment continues, but there is no firm evidence as yet.
